George Day, 79, passed away Nov. 27, 2023 at South Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
George was born on June 29, 1944, to George and Virginia Day in Baton Rouge, La.
After graduating from Baker High School, he attended LSU. At the end of his freshman year, he joined the Air Force. While serving in the Air Force, George met and later married Mayze Mackrell. The couple had one child, a son, George Brandon Day. George graduated from USM and, until the time of his retirement in 2008, he worked for Dixie Electric Power Association. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Covenant Presbyterian Church at 1317 Parker Drive in Laurel.
